Although winter may still be in the air, designers have started sporting their creations for next fall at New York Fashion Week. Located at Manhattan’s Lincoln Center, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will run from Thursday, Feb. 6 through Feb. 13. Fashion week in New York is held every six months and is followed by shows in London, Paris, and Milan.
On Thursday, Nicholas K, a brother-sister team based in New York, was the first line to be featured reported Reuters . Highlighting many oversized sweaters and anoraks in darker blues and indigo, Nicholas K will be part of one of more than 500 shows throughout the next week with more than 180,000 employees and 232,000 people in attendance.
Attendees of Fashion Week have to receive an invitation to an individual show and are directly related to the fashion industry, such as a stylist, buyer, reporter or celebrity, according to E! News . Expect to see celebrities within the first row of the show's audience, with buyers and reporters not far behind. Calvin Klein and Ralph Laruen will cap off the week next Thursday. In the meantime, tune into the Sochi Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies to see Team USA sporting Ralph Lauren’s designs.
