There were no Loch Ness monster sightings reported in over a year and some have begun wondering whether if what it is people claim to see is now dead.
BBC News reports that it's been almost 90 years since there was a long time period in between monster sightings.
It's been 18 months, according to Gary Campbell who has kept a record of Loch Ness sightings for the past 17 years. His records note sightings that date back 1,500 years, when an Irish missionary supposedly encountered something in Loch Ness.
"It's very upsetting news and we don't know where she's gone." He added, "The number of sightings has been reducing since the turn of the century but this is the first time in almost 90 years that Nessie wasn't seen at all."
According to Newser, Campbell noted that he thinks that Nessie was simply on a vacation and will "be back with a vengeance this year."
Nessie placed third in a list put together by wanderlust of mysteries that travelers should figure out the answers to.
