When an 11-year-old sits shivering on a bus bench in the snow without a jacket, Norwegian commuters give up their gloves, scarves, and jackets to keep him warm.
The heart-warming video was done as a filmed experiment through the Norwegian branch of the SOS Children’s Villages International charity, according to the Huffington Post. The video is part of campaign that provides warm clothing for children in war-torn Syria.
The actor did not speak to the commuters unless he was spoken to, but many people gave at least one item of clothing. One woman even gives up her heavy coat to protect the child even though she is left in a tank top.
“We tested the kind-heartedness of the Norwegian people,” the SOS group explained on its website, according to Metro. “The situation for children in Syria is difficult. They live in fear and the nights are very cold. To help children in areas around Damascus and Aleppo, we give out winter jackets that they will not freeze at night.”
The charity hopes the video will motivate people to donate to help the children in Syria.
