In 2003, Mario Caruso sexually assaulted an eight year old girl, and her nine year old friend. In 2011, the same man, Mario Caruso, is being let back into the neighborhood to live beside the 8 year old girl, who is now 19.
Caruso plead guilty of three counts of first degree sexual abuse, and was sentenced to two consecutive one year terms in jail, with 10 years of probation as a registered a level 3 sex offender. According to Criminal Justice, when a court assigns an offender to a level 3, it means that that offender is at a high risk to repeat the offense, and the public is at risk.
The 19 year old is now suing Caruso for the abuse, and the disregard of how it would cause her "severe emotional distress." She can hear him play music, sees his car drive by and fears when she's outside, he's watching, her father said, according to USA Today.
Caruso’s reasons for moving back into the neighborhood is the fact that after he was let out of jail, motels would kick him out, and he had to live out of his car, which would be hard for a probation officer to locate the offender because of no known address.
At the time of the assault, Caruso was a pharmacist, married and a trusted friend of the family.Lohud has gathered all documents pertaining to the Caruso case.
