Late Friday evening, two Michigan State University students were shot inside of their apartment near the campus.

Hospitality business major, Dominique Nolff, 20, died Saturday morning after he was rushed to Sparrow Hospital. The second victim was also sent to the hospital but was later released after being treated for one gunshot wound.

According to Rueters, police describe the shooter as an African American in his early 20s, as well as the act of violence did not seem random.

Nolff’s aunt, Heather Bush, told theAssociated Press that her nephew was a “gentleman” and that “he loved people,” she continued saying that Nolff would have “done anything for anybody.”

A second shooting occurred 24 hours earlier at Ferries State University. Another student was shot near the campus by a suspect believed to be an African American male with dreadlocks.

Police have not captured either suspect; however authorities are pursuing the suspect from Ferris State University. He is believed to be in an area near the campus. Police have the area protected.
