911 definitely gets their fair share of crazy and ridiculous calls and when used for the right things, it can be a helpful line.
Apparently, an Oregon man felt it was quite an emergency when his wife couldn't unzip her jacket. Enough of an emergency to phone 911 for help.
"Yeah, we got a problem here. My wife is struggling in her jacket and I can't get it off. I want 911 here immediately," the man told the dispatcher.
Stunned at the reason for the man calling, dispatchers suggested the man to cut the jacket off of his wife. The man added that it was a "nice jacket" and that he didn't want to cut it off of her.
According to NY Daily, the 911 dispatcher sent a fire crew to the residence to help the woman out of her jacket. The man questioned how long it would take them to arrive, but soon after the woman and the jacket were both rescued.
In an attempt to educate citizens on proper emergencies and situations in which they are to call 911, Yahoo! News noted that the department are posting calls on their Facebook page. This call was released as a part of their "You called 911 for that?!" campaign.
