Philip Seymour Hoffman did not finish filming the last installment of the Hunger Games trilogy, The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay-Part 2, before his untimely death due to a heroin overdose. However, with the use of digital recreation, filmmakers may be able to finish up his last crucial scene.

According to Perezhilton.com, the actor still had seven days on set to finish up the film. He played the role of Plutarch Heavensbee, who became a mentor to Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss in the Mockingjay films.

“These days the technology of using someone’s likeness is a whole lot easier to do. I won’t say you could generate a Philip Seymour Hoffman with all the acting ability, but you could certainly replicate him for a shot or two,” special effects supervisor Rob Legato told The Hollywood Reporter.

When the Hollywood Reporter asked a Lionsgate executive why this particular scene was so important, he said, “Why would I want to give people something to look for two years from now?”

The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay- Part 2 will be out in theaters November 2015.
