Authorities say a 17-year-old con artist duped managers at three Oklahoma Walmart locations out of nearly $30,000.

KFOR reported that police caught up with the juvenile on Jan.30 in Norman, Okla. He allegedly stole from the stores after conning managers into believing he worked there.

According to CBS Houston, police have said that at a Walmart in Moore, the scam artist “acted as if he was a general manager from another store.” He then told the other managers that he was doing an inventory before corporate came to inspect the store.

Authorities said that the accused teen did have a nametag and uniform from when he worked at another Walmart. However, it would have been a good idea for the managers to ask for ID or at least make a phone call to find out if this random “employee” was in fact supposed to be at the store for “inventory.”

Instead, the teen was granted access to the cash room where he was caught on surveillance video shoving money into his pockets.

Police said the teen was fired from a Walmart in Oklahoma City for … stealing cash.
