No one got the six numbers needed for Saturday’s $330.8 million jackpot. Now, the money has shot up to over $400 million in winnings.
According to ABC News, the chances of winning this prize is 1 in 175 million. Since the prizes from Powerball have been knowingly high, Powerball officials raised their prices to $2 back in 2012. Since then, over half of their best prizes have been won.
CBS Miami reports that 32 tickets played had five of the needed numbers, earning $4,562.50 each. Winners of any prize can choose between 30 gradual payments of their prize or take a cash payment immediately.
The numbers needed to win the jackpot were 2-14-21-23 and the Powerball number was 3. The Power Play number was also 3.
The Powerball jackpot is played in 43 states across the United States. The next drawing will take place Wednesday night at the Florida Lottery studio. It is over $400 million, but worth about $227.8 in cash.
