Prince traveled to London recently to play a show in a suburban living room. He played songs from his most recent album, Plectrum Electrum. He recorded Plectrum Electrum with an all-female trio, 3RDEYEGIRL.
According to the Associated Press, Prince recently played in the cozy living room of British soul singer Lianne La Havas, the band played two acoustic tracks of what Prince called their "funky rock `n' roll," or "funk `n' roll," including the newly released single "PretzelBodyLogic." Prince said that his trip to London is open-ended. The songs on the upcoming album were developed at Prince's Paisley Park studios near Minneapolis.
3RDEYEGIRL includes Canadian guitarist Donna Grantis, Danish bass guitarist Ida Nielsen and drummer Hannah Ford from Kentucky, according to Billboard. In the past, Prince was known to launch the careers of Sheila E. and Vanity 6. Some previous albums include 1999, Purple Rain, Sign “O” the Times, and Planet Earth. Known for his soulful pop music and his original visual style, Prince’s work has been recognized around the world.
Prince has won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe, and an Academy Award. The recording artist was seen in a special episode of New Girl with Zooey Deschanel after the Superbowl.
