After a stellar show at the Superbowl XLVIII, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith has announced that he is auctioning his drums.
According to Rolling Stone, the drummer is auctioning his kit in two pieces. He is also auctioning his sticks. The profits will go to the Make A Wish Foundation. The Make a Wish Foundation gives the opportunity for exceptional wishes to be granted. The charity is a popular organization, helping youth across America.
Their performance at the Superbowl was quite anticipated. Although their was some debate about their performance, their fans appreciated the show.
The band told the Associated Press that the experience of performing at the Superbowl is “a surreal-like, once in a life time crazy thing to do and we would just have fun and do it.”
Their song, “Give it Away Now,” is only one of the hits from the band. Other popular songs include “Higher Ground,” “Under the Bridge,” and “Californication.” Their album, Stadium Arcadium won the Grammy for Best Rock Album in 2007.
