The annual hard rock and metal tour Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival announced tour dates and venues for this year’s trek.
As usual, the 24 city festival will launch at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, California on July 5, making its way north, then east and finishing in Texas on August 10.
Although official line-up announcements are not due until March 31, Blabbermouth.net noted iconic rapper Ice-T stated in a podcast that his heavy metal outfit Body Count is confirmed for this year’s festival. Body Count has not made a public appearance since 2009, playing the 15th Anniversary show for the Van’s Warped Tour, but Ice-T has stated the band are working on a new album and have signed with Sumerian Records.
Other names have been rumored and tossed around, including speculation of Korn and Avenged Sevenfold headlining, along with The Pretty Reckless, Machine Head and Anthrax, the latter two having been on last year’s bill.
The annual festival, now in its seventh year, has boasted impressive headliners in the past, including Slipknot, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, and Rob Zombie headlining last year, are sure not to disappoint this year. Tickets go on sale April 5, and you can keep up on news and official announcements on their website.
