SPiN releases EP “Pushed Around”

Alternative Rock band SPiN, from Philadelphia, have recently released the EP “Pushed Around,” containing songs, “Pushed Around,” a cover of TLC’s “Waterfalls,” and “My Everything.”
The first song, “Pushed Around,” is my favorite song from the EP. The instrument solos create a unique version of typical alternative rock music. The message, to “pick your head up off the floor,” also creates an anthem for those that have been “pushed around.”
The next song, “Waterfalls,” is a cover of the 1995 TLC song. The original song spent seven weeks at number one of the Billboard charts and earned two Grammy nominations. I think this was a risky song to cover due to its past success. However, the rock version definitely adds a change of pace to the song and creates an interesting take on the classic song. Do I think it is better than the original? Definitely not.
The third and final song, “My Everything,” starts off slow but quickly picks up momentum into the chorus. The first line of the chorus, “Don’t tell me my everything is not good enough,” and asks, “why are you standing in my way?” I particularly like this song because it speaks for everyone who feels that they are doing all they can and are still not doing enough. It is extremely relateable.
SPiN concists of members, Eric Rothenheber, Jim Vacca, Lou Chudnoksky and Hank Cieplinski. They debut album was released in 2011. They have toured with opening for Red, Fat Joe, Puddle of Mudd and more. They are continuously writing, recording, and released new music.
