Three teenagers have been charged with the death of a college student.

On February 15, 19-year-old Dustyn Frolka, a marketing student at Michigan State University, was found dead on the side of a freeway, according to The New York Daily News.

Frolka was robbed, beaten with brass knuckles, and then thrown from a moving vehicle. He was taken to Sparrow Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to The Daily Mail, Tyrel Bredernitz, 18, worked with high school students Samantha Grigg, 18, and Brendan Heim, 16, to commit the crime. The three were arraigned in court Monday and charged with felony murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Each of the individual charges carries the maximum sentence of life in prison.

Authorities estimate the three teens hadn’t known Frolka for very long before the crime took place and after careful work on the part of the police department, they were able to determine who the victim spent his last hours with.

The teens were reportedly motivated to rob Frolka for drug money.

Frolka was an aspiring rapper and father to a 10-month-old child.
