The Lego Movie has been at the top of the box office for three weekends in a row and Warner Bros. are currently working on the sequel to the highly successful film. The studio announced that the sequel will be coming to theaters May 26, 2017. Which will be the start of the long Memorial Day weekend.
The Lego Movie is the already the top grossing film of 2014 and stars the voices of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks and Morgan Freeman, Sky News reported.
No other new releases have been able to stop the Lego movie from bringing in box office dollars. Films like 3 Days To Kill, RoboCop and The Monuments Men have not come close to taking down the family friendly movie.
On Wednesday, The Lego Movie which is being in shown in both 2D and 3D made over $150 million domestically, The Hollywood Reporter added.
The film only cost $60 million to make and marks a turning point for Warner Bros. The studio has not been known for their animation work.
Currently, everything is awesome for The Lego Movie.
