Oscar buzz has surrounded the nominees for Best Original Score. Newman spoke at a roundtable with some of the other nominees, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Newman created the original scores for Side Effects, Skyfall, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and The Iron Lady. He has been nominated for a number of Academy Awards, the most recent for Skyfall. He faces tough competition from Steven Price for Gravity and the other nominees.
The other nominees for Best Original Score include Gravity(Steven Price), Her(William Butler, Owen Pallett), Philomena(Alexandre Desplat), and Saving Mr. Banks(Thomas Newman), according to the Huffington Post.
Saving Mr. Banks is a film directed by John Lee Hancock. It is based on the development of the Walt Disney Studios film, Mary Poppins. Saving Mr. Banks is a Disney movie that features Tom Hanks. The film was shot entirely in Southern California.
The 86th Annual Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre on March 2. The Awards will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres and televised on ABC.
