Tom Hiddleston has picked his next project, the Thor and Avengers star will be playing the lead in the latest Ben Wheatley film, High-Rise.

The film which was written by Amy Jump will be directed by Wheatley and is currently being shopped around the European Film Market in Berlin, The Hollywood Reporter added.

Wheatley is known for his work on Sightseers, Kill List and A Field In England. Along with taking time to work on film, Wheatley is currently working on the latest season of Doctor Who.

Wheatley spoke about what it was like to work with Hiddleston. “I am very excited to be working with Hiddleston on this project. He brings an intelligence, vulnerability and humour to his roles, be they art-house or blockbuster that will make Laing come alive. It's also a great privilege to be working with Ballard's seminal book," said Wheatley.

Jeremy Thomas, an Oscar winning producer, is behind the project and has worked with Hiddleston before on Only Lovers Left Alive.

The movie is an adaptation of a classic British thriller that was originally written by J.G. Ballard’s, Variety reported.

Hiddleston will be seen next on the big screen in Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak.
