This week’s edition of Trailer Weekly is all about comedy, both animated and live action. Walk of Shame is a slapstick comedy about a stranded reporter having to endure one comedic mishap after another in order to get to a major job interview. Tammy portrays a woman, who goes on a road trip with her unconventional grandmother after her personal and professional life goes to pieces and The Pirate Fairy is an animated comedy about Tinker Bell’s fight to save Pixie Hollow from pirates. All three comedies are chock full of A-list celebs that bring the laughs to a whole new height. Off-the-wall capers, unexpected twists, belief in the power of magic and raunchy physical comedy pack these three motion pictures and will have moviegoers clamoring to get a seat at each of their premieres in a theater near them.
Walk of Shame starring Elizabeth Banks, James Marsden and Willie Garson is one of those physical comedies about a reporter, who after a drunken one-night stand is stranded with no way to get home for the most important interview of her career. Judging from the trailer, after a misbegotten night on the town, Banks’ character winds up hung over after a one-night stand without her phone, car, ID or money and does anything she can to make it home for an unexpected interview for her dream job. Banks’ talent for physical comedy is proven in this flick as she seems to hurl herself into impossible situations all to get home for this one opportunity. Fans of genuine farce and physical comedy are sure to love Banks’ lightning sharp wit throughout the movie. It opens in theaters on April 25.
Tammy starring Melissa McCarthy, Susan Sarandon, Allison Janney, Kathy Bates and Dan Aykroyd is the story of a woman (McCarthy) who loses her job and learns her husband has been cheating on her so she takes her wacky grandmother (Sarandon) on the road trip of their lives. Based on the trailer, McCarthy fans can expect the same madcap, bizarre humor that’s become her trademark. With an all-star supporting cast, this flick is sure to have moviegoers rolling in the aisles. It opens on theaters on July 2.
The Pirate Fairy is an animated motion picture focusing on Tinker Bell for a change. After a rogue fairy steals the Pixie Dust that enables fairies to fly and aligns herself with pirates, it’s Tinker Bell and her friends job to save Pixie Hollow and fairies everywhere. The trailer shows the meaning of friendship, teamwork and of course, the power of magic as Tinker Bell and her fellow fairies race to retrieve the precious Blue Pixie Dust and save their world. It opens in theaters on April 1.
