Two security contractors, who were former Navy Seals, have been found dead aboard the ship portrayed in the Captain Phillips movie.
According to CNN, Seychelles authorities said that they made the discovery on Tuesday in the Maersk Alabama container ship.
FOX News reported that officials have identified the men as Jeffrey Reynolds and Mark Kennedy. They were both 44-years-old.
Details into their deaths are unknown and The U.S. Coast guard is handling the investigation because the Maersk Alabama is a U.S. ship.
"We are monitoring the reported incident involving two deceased U.S. citizens onboard the Maersk Alabama while moored in the Seychelles,” The Coast Guard said in a statement. “We offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the two deceased.”
In 2009, the Maersk Alabama cargo ship was hijacked by pirates near Somalia. Captain Richard Phillips was held captive and rescued days later by Navy Seals snipers.
The story was depicted in the 2013 Captain Phillips film.
