A Utah mother was so offended by a display of new shirts at a PacSun store in her local mall that she bought them all up just so no one else could buy them.

The story starts on Saturday, when Judy Cox and her teenage son were at the University Mall in Orem, Utah. She saw PacSun’s new “Visual” T-shirts, which feature images of scantily-clad women. There was also an advertisement for the shirts in the store window. Cox was so offended, that she had a talk with the store manager.

“She said she did refuse to put the accompanying banner up with the display because it was much worse, but that she couldn't take down the T-shirts without talking to her corporate office, but the promo was over Wednesday anyway,” Cox explained to the Daily Herald. “She said she told them it might not go over well.”

The manager did tell the Herald that she spoke with PacSun’s corporate offices about the complaint about the shirts. Cox also complained to the mall manager, Rob Kallas, who did say that others complained about the shirts.

But the whole legal process to get the shirts taken out of the store would take too long for Cox. She decided that it was easier to spend $567 to buy up all the shirts herself, rather than wait for anything to be done about it. She’d like to destroy the shirts, “but I'll let their corporate office figure out what to do with them when I return them on day 59 of a 60-day return policy.”

“I hope it sends a really strong message to PacSun that, at least in this community, this is not a standard for us,” Cox told CNN. “This is not something we approve of.”

Cox also contacted Women for Decency and One Million Moms about “pornographic” material being promoted in public, she told the Herald. She’s also done a good job of drawing national attention to her plight, speaking with Today, The Associated Press and other national outlets.

We can only wonder what Cox must think about the new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
