Good Things Will Happen is the new album from Ray Tarantino. The singer creates a great listening experience, with each song moving effortlessly into the next. The lyrics are solemn, and the music is never lacking in sentiment.

The song list is cohesive. “Since You Found Your Way” has guitar riffs that sound like Nirvana or grunge rock. The song has a smoky quality. The back-up vocalists are quite strong, and provide soulful harmonies to go with Tarantino’s vocals. In “Guilty No More” is gutsy and strong song, without moments of confession or apology. “Silver Line” is a fun and upbeat. “Miss Me Now” is a torch song. It is warm and inviting, and would sound good at a bar.

Although his lyrics deal with being lost in a dream, you never get lost listening. As a vocalist, Tarantino brings his own style to the CD. He performs spoken word on the album, which is a nice break to the rock sounds. Tarantino embraces storytelling, and it sound more like poems are set to music. It’s not exactly rap, it’s not exactly islands music, but it’s a good listen. Detailed lyrics make you want to hear more. The harmony lines are pleasant, and backup singers blend effortlessly with lead vocalists. His voice is sometimes raspy, but the overall quality of the music has a lilt that’s smooth and pleasant, and the riffs and lyrics that make you want to sing along.

All in all, Tarantino has created a fun album. It will be available in stores in May. The digital download is available now from Tarantino's website.
