A woman was arrested recently in Massachusetts for refusing to pay a cab fee of $980.
According to Metrwo West Daily News, Deice C. Rebelato, 31, was picked up at JFK International Airport asking for a ride to Framingham – a city outside of Boston – on Wednesday.
The cab driver informed Rebelato that the fee would be around or a little under $1,000 and she agreed. However, when she was dropped off at her home at around 8:30 p.m. she claimed she couldn’t pay after searching for cash inside her house.
Framingham police Lieutenant, Frank DiVittorio, told Boston.com that she “stated that she had a lot of problems, that she just came back from Brazil and she had no idea how she was going to pay the fare.”
The cab drive waited patiently for her to find a way to get the money together but soon after called police, DiVittorio said.
Charged with larceny over $250, Rebelato was arrested and arraigned in court Thursday morning.
