A 54-year-old woman named Brenda Gold has one goal in mind—become a member of the Ben-Gals, the Cincinnati Bengals' cheerleading squad.

Gold is a math teacher at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati. She is a mother of two and former volleyball player for the University of Kentucky, reports Complex.

The audition will be held in May. Gold will start taking dance classes next month to prepare and she also plans to attend the Ben-Gals workshops as the audition gets nearer.

According to USA Today, her 28-year-old son, Matt Gold, spoke about his mom’s wishes.

“She was probably watching a Bengals game and saw the cheerleaders and said to herself, 'I can do that,” he said. "She probably can, too."

Given the physical requirements that squads look for, Gold recently entered a make-over contest on Live With Kelly and Michael that would give new looks to people preparing for a big event.

Gold became one of the three finalists in the competition and was featured on the show on Wednesday, sporting her new pixie haircut.

“Now, I really think I can do this,” she told an Ohio TV station after the show.
