Singer Adam Lambert will be joining Queen for the North American tour beginning June 19.
The tour featuring Lambert and Queens has 19 dates in North America. It will be begin at Chicago’s United Center and conclude at Washington D.C.’s Merriweather Post Pavilion, according to Rolling Stone.
At the iHeart Music Festival in Las Vegas, Lambert and Queen sang the stadium anthems, “We are the Champions” and “We Will Rock You,” according to the Associated Press.
Original members of the group joined Lambert at a news conference at Madison Square Garden in New York. Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, died in 1991.
Lambert became known from his work on the television show, American Idol. He went on to become a pop star. His hit singles “For Your Entertainment,” “Whataya Want from Me,” and “If I Had You” made the singer/songwriter a household name. His tour, Glam Nation was a hit with fans and critics alike, and a CD/DVD followed in 2011. Lambert was raised in San Diego, California.
Tickets will go on sale for the North American tour beginning this Friday.
