Four children in California have reportedly been abducted and authorities believe their parents are the culprits.

The parents, Enrique Felix and Rose Chairez, both 28, are believed to have taken the children from their grandmother’s house Friday afternoon, according to KTLA. The children were taken from their parents and placed in protective custody with their maternal grandmother because Felix was known to be violent toward Chairez and their children.

"The information that was provided to us by the grandmother was that the father is known to be violent with both all the children and the mother," said LAPD Officer Sally Madera.

According to NBC Los Angles, authorities are on the lookout for a dark plum or gray Chrysler PT Cruiser with tinted windows, a missing rear hubcap, and a paper license plate with black letters and no official state tags.

Enrique Felix is described as a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes, standing at about 5 feet 10 inches.

Rose Chairez is described as a Hispanic female with red hair and brown eyes, standing at about 5 feet 2 inches.

The children are 1-year-old twin girls, Janeth and Veronica Felix, 5-year-old Justin Felix and 7-year-old Enrique Felix.
