Singer, songwriter and infamous opera singer, Andrea Bocelli will be receiving the lifetime achievement honor at the 2014 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Bocelli is one of the most famous and popular classical artists on the charts today. He has sold over 80 million albums worldwide and has had a total of 14 studio albums, three of those albums are greatest hits recordings. Bocelli has also performed nine complete operas.
As a musician, Bocelli is also credited with helping have classic musical crossover into the mainstream music industry.
The award show will also feature a special performance from Bocelli during the live broadcast, Billboard reported.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards is one of the longest-running and well known Latin music awards. The show will be produced by Telemundo and will air on Thursday, April 24th at the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Florida, TV By The Numbers reported.
Bocelli is a two-time Billboard Latin Music Award nominee in the categories of Latin Pop Albums of the Year, Solo and Latin Pop Album of the year.
