On the podcast Rice said,"It's all about Lestat and all about the vampires and what they're doing right now, how they're coming to terms with everything that's happened to them and how Lestat is dealing with demands from all sides that he step forward and become the leader of the tribe.”
The Los Angeles Times states that Rice has had the book finished since last year but her publisher, Alfred A. Knopf, told her to keep quiet about it.
The book is set to be released Oct. 28 of this year and will be directly related to the first five books, which include her famous first “Vampire Chronicles” book, Interview with the Vampire, which was turned into the hit 1994 film starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.
"I feel like this is Novel 1 of a new incarnation of the Vampire Chronicles," said Rice.
