The horrid Hollywood severed head mystery has been solved and authorities have made an arrest.
People reports that the authorities believe that they have found the person that has committed the crime. The case came about in 2012 when there were severed heads and other body parts found by the infamous Hollywood sign. It is reported that the scene is not too far from A list actor Brad Pitt’s home.
The authorities have thirty-eight-year-old Gabriel Campos Martinez in custody. He was arrested in San Antonio, Texas and awaiting a trial for the murder of retired airlines employee Hervey Coronado Medellin.
Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck has always considered Martinez "as a person of interest since the outset of the investigation.”
Deputy District Attorney Bobby Grace added that Martinez and Medellin were once in a relationship and shared an apartment in Hollywood.
NBC added that with revelation of Martinez being behind the gruesome murder Medellin’s cousin Juan Gonzalez is relieved to get some justice.
“We're very happy police did not forget about this crime,” he said, “and that they were able to follow through."
According to Grace Medellin had been strangled and dismembered in a different location. His body parts were dumped and scattered around the park below the Hollywood sign. His severed head was in a plastic bag and was found by dog walkers on the trail. Once authorities started the search hands and feet were found.
