The biggest sporting event in the world, hosted in Brazil this coming summer, and the FIFA World Cup picked Pitbull and Jennifer Lopez to launch the month-long tournament and just announced Avicii, Carlos Santana, Wycleff and Alexandre Pires to close the ceremony.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the four artists have been picked by World Cup governing body FIFA to perform “Dar um Jeito (We Will Find A Way),” the closing anthem for this year's international soccer tournament. The track comes from the pen of two-time Grammy-nominee Ash Pournouri.
As part of the World Cup's growing musical accompaniment, FIFA and Sony Music Entertainment announced in January that “We Are One (Ole Ola),” by Pitbull, featuring Jennifer Lopez and Brazilian artist Claudia Leitte, was selected as the official song of the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, and the trio will also perform the song at the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony on June 12 at the Arena de Sao Paulo.
The FIFA World Cup features the best 32 international soccer teams including team USA, Portugal, England, current defending champions Spain, and host country Brazil. Brazil last hosted the event in 1950 where in their first final, lost to Uraguay. Brazil have made seven appearances in the final, and have won a record-number of five times.
