The remaining surviving members of Queen and Adam Lambert have teamed up for a North American tour for the 2014 summer, and Brian May insisted that with Lambert singing it's the closest fans will get to when singer Freddie Mercury was still alive.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, May, Lambert and Roger Taylor sat down and explained the tour and what fans should expect.
"This is the closest that you'll ever get to see Queen as it was in our golden days," May said. "But it's not a reproduction. It's not an imitation. We're here live and real and we have a great singer."
Lambert said that the plan is for the band to play live. "This is all live instruments. ... It's purely organic."
The former American Idol contestant noted there is pressure in singing some of the songs as he isn't familiar with Queen's entire catalog. "I'm very familiar with a big handful of the hits. ... There were definitely some songs I wasn't familiar with. It was a bit of pressure to know I knew them and to learn them."
May vaguely added that there is a chance of Queen and Lambert continuing together after the North American tour, but said there weren't currently any plans.
It was previously reported on Thursday, that the singer and Queen would be going on a North American Tour as they are familiar with each other after playing together during the 2011 MTV European Music Awards and at the iHeartRadio Music Festival last year.
