Constantly-tweeting director Bryan Singer has denied a rumor that Halle Berry’s Storm character was whittled down to a cameo appearance in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The New York Daily News started the rumor in a report that claimed Berry was now living separately from her husband, Olivier Martinez. The source claimed that while her role had to be limited because of her pregnancy, it was cut even further in the editing room.
“She only has one line in the whole movie,” the source claimed.
On Monday, U.K. site Digital Spy asked Singer on Twitter if these rumors were true at all. He simply responded, “No.”
“@digitalspy: @bryansinger are the rumours about Storm being cut down to just 1 scene true? :(” No.

Of course, it’s not a far-fetched idea that Singer would wind up nearly cutting out a major star. Back in December, he said that True Blood star Anna Paquin had her only scene as Rogue chopped out of the final cut.
Days of Future Past brings the main cast from Frist Class and the original X-Men trilogy together, with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart back to play Magneto and Professor X, respectively. The younger First Class cast - including Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicolas Hoult - will be back as well. Berry played Storm in the original X-Men trilogy.
Days of Future Past opens on May 23.
