A chef in St. Louis has decided to pay tribute to Wes Anderson’s films with her Westrospective.
Chef Liz Schuster has previously hosted events including dinner and the movies at St. Louis’ Tenacious Eats at the Meyer’s Grove Nightclub. She is showing a number of Anderson’s films including The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, The Royal Tennenbaums, and the stop-motion animated film, The Fantastic Mr. Fox.
Wes Anderson is enjoying the success of his most recent film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. The movie features Tilda Swinton as a wealthy woman and Ralph Fiennes as a hotel concierge in 1930s Europe, according to The Huffington Post.
Anderson told the St. Louis Post Dispatch in a recent phone interview, “I had been to Vienna several times, but had only been to Prague once, and in researching the film we went all around Poland and Czechoslovakia, a country that disappeared before our eyes. We finally found our make-believe setting in Saxony.”
The Grand Budapest Hotel opens locally on March 21.
