Disney has a lot of popular movies in their upcoming line up including the new Star Wars films and the sequel to the worldwide blockbuster The Avengers. Now Disney has announced that these major films will be released on IMAX screens.
Disney announced that starting off the new IMAX trend, Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be arriving on IMAX screens starting next month, Variety reported.
Following the first Avenger, Maleficent will be shown on the large format screen. Maleficent stars Angelina Jolie playing the evil villain from the Snow White film.
Disney will also be showing two other Marvel films on the IMAX screen including the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy this year and Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.
Walt Disney Studios president Alan Bergman spoke about their relationship with IMAX. "“Disney has enjoyed a terrific ongoing collaboration with Imax, and we are thrilled to extend this relationship with a collection of exciting, highly anticipated cinematic events that are perfect for the immersive IMAX format," said Bergman.
Star Wars: Episode VII will also be show on IMAX screens, Disney announced in a statement.
