The upcoming feature film Splinter Cell, which is being adapted off of a very popular video game, may have found its director. Doug Liman is in talks to direct the project, which Tom Hardy is attached to star in.
Liman is known for his work on Mr. And Mrs. Smith and is reportedly in final talks to direct the film, The Hollywood Reporter added.
Peter Berg, who is known for directing Lone Survivor and Battleship was previously attached to the project to direct, Belfastte Telegraph reported.
Basil Iwanyk of Thunder Road PIctures will be producing the film along with Jean-Julien Baronnet of Ubisoft Motion Picture Group. If Liman decides to direct he would also be producing with David Bartis, who he has worked with in the past.
Hardy will be reportedly staring as Sam Fisher, a spy for a secret government. In the video game, Sam Fisher, is the main character through out the game storyline.
No other actors or release date has yet to be announced for the upcoming project.
