The band Elbow has been a staple for the British modern rock scene for years and the band has finally reached a career milestone. Elbow has the No. 1 album in the U.K. with their sixth studio release, The Take Off and Landing of Everything.
Billboard reported that this accomplishment comes 24 years after the band first formed and played together. It has been 17 years in the making since the band officially became Elbow.
The group came close back in 2011 when they released Build A Rocket Boys!" which debuted at No. 2 on the charts.
The band took to Twitter to celebrate their success.

The Take Off and Landing of Everything took the top spot away from "Happy" singer Pharrell Williams and his first solo album G I R L. Williams album falls to No. 3 on the U.K. charts, The Guardian reported.
Williams is still riding a wave of success and sales increases from his performance of "Happy" during the Academy Awards which was nominated for best original song.
Paloma Faith came in second with her third album A Perfect Contradiction.
