The first teaser for producer David Heyman’s film adaptation of the classic Paddington stories has been released. It doesn’t show much, but it gives fans of the beloved books a glimpse of the animated bear.

Paddington will mix live action with an animated bear, whose face is shown right at the end of the 50-second spot. It shows the bear’s travels from Peru to a London train station, where he is dropped off and his adventures will begin. Michael Bond wrote the international best sellers.

The film got off the ground last year, when Colin Firth joined to voice the bear. Several other British stars have also been recruited, including Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins. Nicole Kidman will also star.

Heyman is best known for producing the Harry Potter films, but he scored a smash hit last year with Gravity. The film was nominated for Best Picture and took home seven Oscars, including Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron.

Paddington will be released by TWC-Dimension on Dec. 12, 2014.
