A student at Florida Atlantic University was taken for a two hour ride up the Atlantic Coast when he was towed in his kayak by an 11-foot hammerhead shark. He taped the 12-hour ride with a head mounted camera on his helmet and posted the video on YouTube.
According to Reuters, Adam Fisk, 22, was fishing on Sunday when he hooked the hammerhead shark, who proceeded to drag him on a ride across the Atlantic Coast. He captured it all on video and posted a 5-minute clip to YouTube, titled “Lone Man Gets Towed for Miles in Kayak by 11 Foot Hammerhead Shark."
“I threw my bait out and went to reel my other one in so I wouldn’t get tangled, and I just had time to pick up the rod before the other one already got picked up by that hammer,” Fisk wrote on YouTube.
Fisk is a part of Team Rebel Fishing, a group of extreme anglers who are known to post videos of “extreme shark fishing”.
Fisk stated that ride became scary when the shark tried to reverse course two times. He started in Boynton Beach, Florida and ended in Lake Worth, after the shark took him around in circles.
“I’ve hooked sharks, but not that big and never on purpose,” Fisk told Palm Beach Post. “It was about 11-foot and my kayak is about 12.”
