Olympic athlete Oscar Pistorius is set to go to trial on Monday in South Africa.

Pistorius, 27, is facing multiple charges, including murder, in the case of his girlfriend’s, Reeva Steenkamp, death. Steenkamp was shot on Valentine’s Day last year, killing her. Pistorius claims that he shot Steenkamp when he mistook her for a home intruder.

According to ABC News, Pistorius was the first Paralympian who competed with others without physical issues. Pistorius is widely known as the “Blade Runner” due to the fact that he is a double amputee.

Independent reports that the prosecution is likely going to use Pistorius’ known anger issues as the reasoning behind him killing Steenkamp.

There are 107 individuals listed as witnesses to this case, including neighbors that heard screaming and some of Pistorius’ ex-girlfriends. Steenkamp’s mother will also be present at the trial. It will be the first time Steenkamp’s mother and Pistorius will meet.

If Pistorius is found guilty in his trial, he will face at least 25 years in prison.
