Frontman for metal band Black Label Society, and former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde had a custom made Gibson Les Paul guitar stolen from his tour bus in Chicago.
According to Guitar Player the guitarist was in Chicago as part of the Experience Hendrix Tour, with other iconic players Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, and Dweezil Zappa, among others. At approximately 10pm on Friday March 14, the robbers entered Wylde’s tour bus and stole the one-of-a-kind guitar and a leather vest.
Wylde took to social media immediately on Twitter and Instagram posting a picture of the guitar stolen and asking friends and fans for help in recovering the guitar. The guitar is a custom made Gibson Les Paul, with Wylde’s signature bulls eye design in Pelham Blue.

“In 25-plus years, I’ve never had anything stolen,’ Wylde told the Chicago Tribune. Apparently Wylde’s tour manager momentarily forgot to lock the tour bus door, allowing the men, described as three African American males, one tall and two short and stocky, to commit their robbery. “Nothing gets stolen off tour buses unless you don’t lock them,” Wylde continued. “Rule number one: when you get off this (expletive deleted) bus, you lock the (expletive deleted) door and you check the handle.”
Wylde is asking if the guitar is found to call authorities or message him on social media directly.
