Disney's animated family feature Frozen has taken over the box office and the music charts with its unforgettable and catchy soundtrack. The film is well known for their characters but the song "Let It Go" which is featured in the movie and on the soundtrack is one of the most memorable moments from Frozen.

During the early stages of production, the Oscar nominated song was meant for the villain in the film, explained Frozen songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez, USA Today added.

Lopez explained that "Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel) was gonna come down the hill with her army of marshmallow snow people and take over the town, but we wrote Let it Go" and we felt differently about her character who had suppressed her magical powers for so long," said Lopez.

The film was re-written around Elsa's new identity.

Idina Menzel will be performing "Let It Go" during the Oscars tomorrow evening during the Academy Awards, AP reported. Menzel, along with fellow performers U2 and Pharrell Williams impressed audiences with their Oscar rehearsal.
