Robert Lopez, who wrote “Let It Go” with wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez, just became the youngest person in history to join the elite EGOT club. The Frozen songwriter now has an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony on his resume.
Lopez has two Daytime Emmys for his music for The Wonder Pets, a children’s show. In 2012, he shared a Grammy with the cast and crew of The Book of Mormon, which won Best Musical Theater Album. He has three Tonys - one for his Avenue Q score and two for his work on Mormon with Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
At 39, Lopez is the youngest member of the EGOT Club. There are now 12 members, including the late Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, Rita Moreno, Mike Nichols and Mel Brooks.
Not only did Frozen win Best Original Song, but it became the first film from Disney Feature Animation to win Best Animated Feature. According to Box Office Mojo, the film has already passed the $1 billion mark worldwide, with $388.7 million of that from North America.
With a success like that, the Lopez family better get ready for another call from Disney.
