Glassdoor has released a list of companies that pay their interns the best and unsurprisingly tech companies dominate the list.

The Glassdoor list shows 25 of the top paying companies for interns. Software company Palantir tops the list as it pays $7,012 a month.

VMWare follows close behind with $6,966 and Twitter is in the third spot with $6,791. An intern at VMWare said of the company, "Compensation is up to the mark and company takes care of good bonuses and other perks."

Interns at Palantir and Twitter noted it wasn't just money that make the internships great. A Twitter Software Engineering intern said, "You will ship code used in production, you can have a say in virtually all company decisions, you will be generously compensated, you will earn a ton."

Other companies that appear on that list include Facebook, Linkedin, Ebay, Google, Apple and NVidia. Oil and gas companies do show up on the list too. ExxonMobil is in the eighth spot with $5,972, Chevron is at No. 13 with $5,446 and ConocoPhillips is in 15th place with $5,357.

CNET notes that even the lowest company on the list, Schlumberger, pays well at $4,634 a month. That number is more than double the average amount interns make, which is usually between $2,400 and $3,100.
