Glee normally ends a season with the Glee club attending nationals and competing for the top honor. This season ended with the glee club once again on the national stage but this eposide featured another dedication to the late Cory Monteith that was unexpected.

In the eposide the group decides on a set list that was created from Cory/Finn's favorite songs. Featured in the eposide is Finn's mom and stepfather in the audience, Variety reported.

Before the "New Directions" finished their national set they closed with "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by U2. Audiences saw flashbacks to some of the best moments on the show that featured Monteith. The flashbacks went all the way back to the series pilot which featured Monteith being discovered for his vocal talent while being in the shower to a moment between Finn and Mr. Schuster, who is played by Matthew Morrison, that is often remember as an emotional and important moment for the show, Vulture recapped.

The entire performance during the show was dedicated to Finn.

Monteith died back in July of last year at the age of 31. Following his passion, Ryan Murphy, the creator of Glee dedicated the eposide "The Quarterback" to his character and to the actor.
