The first full trailer for Grace of Monaco, the Grace Kelly biopic starring Oscar winner Nicole Kidman as the actress, has been released. It shows how Kelly, an Oscar winner herself, tried to go back to Hollywood after marrying Prince Rainier, who was dealing with a political crisis at the time.
Kelly had shown interest in making another film with Alfred Hitchcock in the early 1960s, but was persuaded to stay in Monaco as Rainier dealt with a crisis with France. Rainier is played by Tim Roth. Frank Langella also stars.
The trailer is the first look at the movie since a teaser was released in September. It was released by Warner Bros. U.K., which will bring the movie to theaters in the U.K. on June 6. The Weinstein Company has the U.S. rights and originally planned to open the film in 2013, but just after the teaser was released, the film was delayed until 2014. According to The Hollywood Reporter, TWC has yet to schedule the film’s U.S. release.
Grace of Monaco was directed by Olivier Dahan (La vie en rose). THR notes that it was reported that he was clashing with TWC over edits Harvey Weinstein wanted to make to his finished film.
