Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin have officially decided to separate after being married to one another for 10 years.
The duo decided to share the news about the decision together on Paltrow’s website, Goop, according to E! News, on a post that was titled “Conscious Uncoupling.”
The post shared, “It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much, we will remain separate.”
The couple then continued the post to explain that they will always be together in the sense that they are a family. They share two children together, Apple and Moses Martin.
“We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time,” the post continued. “We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and coparent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.”
According to the Daily Mail, the couple wed in December of 2003 during a secret ceremony in Mexico.
Over the last year, the family had moved from London to Los Angeles and had been pictured looking like a picture perfect family with their children.
