Heavy metal fans will not be seeing their favorite performers anytime soon.
The Associated Press reports that a two-day concert devoted to heavy metal bands has been cancelled by a Mexican state’s decision to prevent safety risk.
Bands like Twisted Sister, Guns ‘N Roses and KISS were supposed to perform at the “Hell and Heaven Metal Fest,” starting March 15 through the 16, did not have adequate safety plans which could be a huge risk for the concert-goers.
A statement from the state civil defense office said in a statement that the city cancelled the festival “for 70,000 to 80,000 people and 50 musical groups, because safety conditions for potential concert-goers were not ensured.” The statement also said there was a lack of fire safety, evacuation plans and unprofessional planning of fireworks.
Since the 1960’s, the Mexican has banned rock concerts because of the worry that they will bring rebellious youth.
Unfortunately for KISS bands in particular, this will be the second show of the year the face-painted group will not be performing at. Last month, it was that the band will not be playing at the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
