Damian Lewis is set to join the cast of the upcoming spy film Our Kind of Traitor.
Radio Times reported that Brody is the newest addition to a cast that already includes Ewan McGregor, Naomie Harris and Stellan Skarsgard. Hossein Amini adapted the script from John le Carre’s novel of the same name. Susanna White is directing.
The film follows a married couple who get embroiled with a Russian mobster while on vacation.
The film will begin shooting later this month in London, The Hollywood Reporter revealed. Studiocanal, Film4, Ink Factory and Potboiler Productions are jointly producing the film. Studiocanal and Porboiler have experience with le Carre’s work. Variety noted that Studiocanal produced Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Potboiler produced The Constant Gardener.
Lewis is best known for his performance as Nicholas Brody on Showtime’s hit Homeland. While his character was killed off at the end of the third season, he was honored with a Golden Globe and an Emmy for his work.
Jeremy Northam has always been cast in the film. Northam is known for his roles in The Tudors and Gosford Park.
