A day after John Travolta botched her name at the Oscars, Broadway star Idina Menzel appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The host made sure he got her name right and the two performed Frozen’s “Let It Go” with classroom instruments.
After performing with Carly Rae Jepsen in 2012, the classroom instruments sketch has become a favorite, so naturally Fallon would take it with him to the Tonight Show. For “Let It Go,” Fallon played with letter blocks, while Manzel sang and played triangle.
As MTV News notes, Fallon showed Manzel the Vine clip that has been shared everywhere durign his monologue. Travolta completely messed up her name, calling her “Adele Dazim,” which inspired Internet memes.
"I feel so bad because you can tell as he's saying it [he's thinking], 'Oh, this is not going to come out right at all. I'm just going to say sounds,’” Fallon said. “When Idina Menzel heard that she was like, 'Let it go, let it go, let it go.'”
Then, Fallon and The Roots joined Menzel for another performance of “Let It Go.” The song won the Oscar for Best Original Song and was written by Robert Lopez and Katherine Anderson-Lopez.
