With the breakout song off of the Frozen soundtrack arriving into the top 10 on the Billboard hot 100 charts, Idina Menzel has become the first person in history to have both a top 10 single on the charts and a Tony Award for acting.
"Let It Go" entered into the top ten at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 Charts this week, Billboard reported. With help from her Oscar performance of "Let It Go", momentum for the single has picked up in sales and downloads.
The song has spent 15 weeks on the charts, Broadway World added.
Menzel has won a Tony Award for her performance in the female lead driven Broadway musical Wicked, which she won back in 2004 for best actress in a musical. Menzel had also been nominated for her work on Rent back in 1996.
Other musicians have taken home Tony's and had singles on the charts, take for example, Elton John but no musician has won for acting and had a single on the top 100 charts. John won the Tony for for best original musical score for Aida and has had 27 No. 1 on the Billboard charts which started recording music stats back in 1958.
