Today is International Women’s Day, as this month also marks Women’s History Month. Google has shown its support with a special Doodle that debuted on Friday. It features women from around the world, all announcing “Happy International Women’s Day” in various languages.

The video, which is only 80 seconds long, features women who have been in the headlines lately. Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who was survived being shot by the Taliban, appears. She is just 16-years-old, but has accomplished so much, spreading a message in favor of young women’s education.

Also included is Dalia Grybauskaitė, the president of Lithuania; American author Janet Mock; Russian actress Nonna Grishaeva; Indian boxing champion Mary Kom; and Easkey Britton, the first woman to surf in Iran. Cartoon star Dora the Explorer is even spotted. In total, over a 100 women took part.

International Women’s Day has been observed for over a century, as the push for women’s rights got moving in the early 1900’s. There are over 1,300 events planned around the world for today.
